About this product

The Deafgard is a battery-powered, wireless alert device that is simple to use and warns the deaf or hard of hearing if a fire alarm is sounding in a property.

Deafgard is designed to listen for a continuous fire alarm sound of 75dBA or higher using advanced acoustic sensors. When this sound is recognised, the Deafgard will activate tactile and visual alert signals using a vibrating pad, high-intensity LED and an LCD screen displaying the word “FIRE”.

How does the Deafgard work?

The Deafgard consists of the main control unit alongside a vibrating pillow pad which is designed to be placed underneath a pillow. Upon hearing a fire alarm sound the Deafgard will activate both the vibration pad and a high-intensity LED therefore alerting the room occupant that there is a fire in the premises. The Deafgard signals are able to wake sleeping occupants and alert them to a potential fire emergency.
